We need more choice
Your Turn Challenge is a 7-day blogging challenge inspired by the Your Turn book by Seth Godin. Powered by readers (who are now writers). Check out the book at yourturn.link
I don’t just mean the choice of hair colouring on the shelves of a shop.
People should be able to choose into which community to move. Presently it is a lottery. There is a big chance that none of your neighbours will ever be your friends. If all communities are intentional and consist of like-minded people, there would be less loneliness and isolation in the world. There used to be class segregation people couldn’t avoid. Now we hopefully are moving towards the stage when people are freely creating tribes based on their views. We might benefit if we use this pattern for moving into new homes too. To revive community spirit, closer ties with the land and other people.
I think party politics is dead. Voting should be on policies and individuals. There is a great dishonesty in party ideology. Compare how, for example, independent journalists and party representatives answer questions. Dishonesty stinks.
We need more choice in how we live our lives. Everywhere on the planet. As long as you not harming others it is your business alone. “Offended by somebody’s opinion” is not “harmed”. Anything could be said – or drawn. Don’t like this? Don’t look, don’t listen. People should be protected from direct personal bulling and reputation-destroying lies. That’s all. Freedom of expression is a sacred right.
Doctors and particularly nutritionists should approach everybody on individual basis, helping to Taylor perfectly what each of us eat, how we exercise or sleep. There should not be any academic or manufacturing (seeds, medicine, food) “mafia” with dodgy studies but great influence. Research should be open and honest.
People are varying from each other’s a lot. What their body needs and what their mind needs too. I think personality psychology & typologies would be of great use here if applied properly. They give us understanding that the others may not see things in the same way we do and that’s OK.
Of course, there should be more choice with education. And finding your dream job.
This is my idea of what should be improved in the world. I am willing to help this cause. By blogging.
