I did this in my friends garden which I like very much. Flowers are everywhere: pink dahlias, white hydrangeas, red pelargonium in container on the porch, clematis arch. Warm light started to pour from the windows of a log summer cottage near Moscow.

Archway original pastel painting
«

  • «
A painting done with fast expressive pastel strokes.
Measuring approximately 21 x 30.5 cm (8 x 12 inches)

Soft pastel is one of my favourite media. I love painting places I’ve never been to, imagining myself visiting them. The photograph which inspired me probably was from Wetcanvas artist image database but I can’t remember where this place was.

Description

Done with the pencils and ink on paper on a very calm overcast day when a huge snowflakes were slowly falling from the sky. Turned out to be a bit Japanese I guess. A lonely figure with an umbrella is standing on the suspended bridge. 03/02/2010 Newtown, Powys, Wales.

The print is awailable from Imagekind
